Well ther I was, read all the necesary comments on dpreview.com, looked at the samples, and decided to buy a canon g2. Then minolta decide to upgrade the d7. I have put my purchase on hold and can't wait till I can get my hands on a D7i. It appears they have fixed the most agravating problems - focus, handgrip and heat, no sound on movies. About only thing it doesn't have that would have been nice is a twist and flip screen. Oh well maybe next time. Good-on-ya minolta!!

I miss the G1/G2 flip/swivel screen too! Also would like the rotate image in camera review feature. Hate it when I show off my D7 images on TV and the portrait views are all sideways! Really ruins the mood and presentation. Also hope the TV images are sharper in the D7i then on the D7, which is a far cry from the really nice G1's TV image!
