So with a D200 taking pictures inside a house, using the built in flash, auto focus for every shot, how many FPS will I get? This is with NEF .

With my current D100, enabling to shoot continues and with flash open, it actually doesn’t shot continues, so I am getting less than 1 FPS out of this camera with built in flash.

One of the reasons for me shelling out the money for a D200 is that I can actually take 2+ fps with built in flash , and focus every time.

i think i shoot like 4.2 fps or some crud like that for a burst of 20 shots in NEF (depending on the scene). so im pretty happy with that. i dont even need 5fps for my shooting. but y'never know.

Continuous shooting and the Built-In flash don't work together on the D200.

If you try to do more than a few shots rapidly the flash just stops working

D200 English manual page 76

Using the Built-In Flash

If the built-in flash is used in continuous shooting mode, only one photograph will be taken each time the shutter-release button is pressed.

After the built-in flash has been used for several consecutive shots, it may turn off briefly to protect the flash. The built-in flash can be used again after a short pause.

Cheers

How fast you can take the next shot depends on the flash recycling time - if your subject is very close and the flash fires at very little power then you may be able to shoot again almost right away - if your subject is at distance and the flash fires at full power then it will take at least a few seconds I believe for the flash to recharge.

The built in flash is not really intended for that kind of usage. Depending on power levels, you may get half a dozen shots off in a few seconds, but the flash will shut down (and stop your camera form firing) pretty quickly. Is there a particular reason you can't use (or don't have) an external flash. Even an sb-400 would do a lot better than the pop-up, and won't drain your camera's battery.
