Is it possible to download the firmware of an older H9 and compare it to the firmware of a newer H9, to see if Sony quietly made firmware changes?

You'd probably get more responses if you started a new thread. To all Sony DSC-H9 users:
When you say "Monitor," you mean the LCD display on the camera? ("Monitor" generally refers to your computer monitor).Need to know if your Sony H9 doesn't match properly the monitor's
beautiful colors to the pictures (files)
You really can't judge an image from its appearance on the camera's LCD display. The display can give you a general sense of what the image looks like, but it's not a true representation. Generally, the H-Series pumps up the LCD display's Brightness, Contrast, and Saturation.when set in AUTOMATIC MODE (green camera icon on dial).
I see bright crisp colors on my monitor
Try turning down the camera LCD's brightness. Or change the in-camera Color, Contrast, and Sharpening settings.but when I see the actual files, the colors are very dull
and not bright at all. Very washed.
If your color space is set wrong (for instance to Adobe RGB), and you're shooting in sRGB, then you'll get exactly what you're describing. It's not a problem with my
computer because I have Sony H previous models and I don't have
this problem with them.
I really don't think it's a model problem.I went to the Sony store to exchange it, just in case it was a
problem with the model I purchased, and that model (new) too had
the same problem. Also borrowed my friend's H9 and he too has the
same problem.
Regardless of how they look in-camera (and how that compares to how they look on the computer), are the images similar to the ones from the previous H-Series?I waited months for this camera and I'm so dissapointed with this
that I will sadly return it.
And have you tried loading them on your friend's computer?I haven't heard of anyone online
complaining about this. Is it a camera glitch no one has noticed?
Post a new thread Mariel, and maybe you'll get more takers.Or am I doind something wrong. I did a camera RESET, read the
entire manual, did several tests, and nothing seems to remove this
problem from the camera.
