I think of this as being a relaxed shot after the rain, but it followed a wild and, tragically for some, lethal three days of weather on the eastern coast of Australia.

Well done. This must be one of the most photographed place in the world but it made me look.

You've got halos around the walking figures in the foreground.

Hiya Guy,

This is a very nice treatment of an oft photographed subject. I think it looks fantastic. :-)

Thank you. It was a quick snap as the light changed. Wish I could have directed traffic ( as we all do).

Quite possibly--my PPing skills are still in the early stages--and maybe I could've dragged out background detail without causing the halos.

Thanks Lance. I was on my way back from the Art Gallery Sunday. Same time the theft of the Frans van Mieris occurred. I was amazed I was allowed to take my back pack in for once. But, no, I won't be retiring soon :)

Cheers,

Guy,

Nice to see you posting an image.

I see a little haloing too but compositionaly, i really like it. The people walking in the foreground work for me. Also the people talking to the right. The two reflections are also very good.

Cheers

Very nice Guy,

A different look at an old subject. Did you shoot a fairly small aperture to get those cool star highlights?

Thank you, John.

It was shot at F8. I must admit I was a little surprised how distinct the star shape of the flare was at that aperture, but then again I don't often shoot straight into the sun.

Cheers,
