mucking about with x3fill

Thanks for the nice SMALL image.

I have been really discovering NFL the last few days. I have a series of photos I am taking of 'golden oldies' and the NFL really works well with 'em.

I've been playing with negative fill light since I saw an example on this wbsite. It has some quite interesting effects but I fnd it most useful for covering up mistakes!

Take this shot for example:

it was horribly overexposed because I hadn't adjusted the flash output but with a little bit of NFL I think it looks great. A happy accident!

P.S.

Eventually I will get my images uploaded to somewhere better than myspace and have a link as my signiature... honest!

No he didn't. Someone else did.
Photography is a medium of exclusion
no it isnt
in which the photographer must eliminate distracting elements from > the scene in> order to produce a pleasingly composed photograph.
This is a choice. And pleasing to who?

IMHO Photography is an inclusive medium. What is included in the
photo becomes the subject. If you take photos that exclude things
that is your problem, I try to include everything possible to make
the viewer see my subject.

e.g. In a photo of old ladies, i might use NFL as it gets rid of
wrinkles really well whereas above the NFL examples above i wanted
to illustrate the wildness of the weather. People DO prefer the
Amended one though hits stand at 23 to nil.
As to drama, images without or with only minimal drama and
emotional appeal are sterile and boring, by definition.
Too true. Drama is why I take photos. But I like it to be MY drama
of what I see.
