Ricoh GR Digital Photo Contest (Entry Photos)

Unfortunately the theme of the contest is "Delightful moments and scenes". I don't think that among the pictuers I shot with Ricoh cameras there are any that qualify to this description...

You have some great pictures there Prog and while you don't have some obvious pictures that would qualify I think these 3 are pretty good and should be considered.

BTW. This is a great picture: http://boren.sent.com/Ricoh/GX8-4-2007/slides/10-post-4674-1177890087.html

Thanks for the kind words, Vladimir.

I thought about going through the archive to see if I can find pictures that are more inline with the theme, but now that I read the Application Guidelines I think I'll pass...

How about that guideline #12?

Agreed. Basically you sign away all rights to the photo to be be used for Ricoh's advertising purposes for free. Usually you keep control over your own photographs. This seems to be giving up the rights....which is bothersome to me.

I suppose it discourages active professionals, which is probably a good thing anyway. So you give up the rights to one good photo.. if you werent going to use it for commercial gain in the first place, who cares? Its not like they are asking you do delete the file off your hard drive.

For Ricoh it generates a great pool of promotional images, but dont forget it also gives some very nice publicity for the winners too.

I think its sweet of them. You know, Ricoh probably only do this because they enjoy seeing what people manage to accomplish with their cameras.

"Photographs submitted shall be taken in JPEG high quality mode with a Ricoh digital camera, and not trimmed or retouched. Please retain EXIF information."

No post-processing sharpening, NR or image enhancements. No RAW. No cropping. No exceptions.

Straight from the tap, so to speak.

I like their attitude!
