Hello everyone

Does the EOS Digital Rebel XTi or the EOS Digital Rebel XT have manual exposure? like, I press on taking a picture, keep pressing for longer exposure and after a certine time I decide to unpress.

Thank you

You will need a tripod and a cable or the wireless remote to use that feature of the camera.

I think the confusion about the 30 minute issue is that you can program up to a 30 second delay before you get to the bulb setting. After that it's as long as your battery or thumb on the remote switch will last.

With the camera figuring it out, automatic exposure is from 30 minutes to however fast the fast shutter speed is. "Bulb" is manual so it starts when the shutter is started and over when the shutter is halted, the remote infrared unit some one suggested above is the cheapest good wireless unit to fire your camera in the "bulb" mode. You can not hand hold the camera in longer exposures so a tripod, park bench, short garden wall, anything to stabilize your camera is needed.

Remember digital images are almost free so experiment with exposure times; maybe one sec, then two, then four, etc. and check the images out on your preview feature.

In theory, Practice and Theory are the same. In practice, they are not.

You mean 30 seconds, not 30 minutes.

The manual exposure settings can be set up to 30 seconds, then it goes to bulb.
