No - we don't any news.
Just LAUNCH the bloody camera!
With the amount of time we've waited, I don't want to see an announcement and then 2-3 months before it's available in stores.
Hey - we could all travel to Japan, and make a demonstration outside Sony cameradivision's headquarters?
To prove that we REALLY mean it, we should all have old analogue Minolta MAXXUM cameras hanging around our necks...
and shoot a picture of EVERYONE who enters/exits the building, then post the photos IN HERE, with the topic title:
"Here goes yet another one who denies us of our heritage"
... wait... maybe it's just the heat... oh, it DID help to drink some water...
Oh, on topic again then - yes, I agree with you - Sony, give someting... just... anything!

Sony already gave us several things :
1 - The Alpha100
2 - 2 Wooden mock-ups/dummies at the PMA
3 - Lots of promises to lauch several cam's ; maybe this year, maybe next year, or the year after.
And that's about it.

4 - Not to forget : pictures of the 2 to be launched cam's on one of their websites.

Dear Sir,
We acknowledged your request but your name doesn't seem to be included in the professional photographers list that we have (mostly Canon user) nor we find your name in our Sony database having owned any Sony products. Could you please send us a sample of your pictures (any picture of any Sony product will do) so that we have an indication whether you really need a professional level camera.
As of now, all we are getting are whiners and complainers input without much indication on how they will use our high end product. Please send directly your complain to Sony and not this forum so that we could just add it to the files that we still need to act.

Perhaps instead of wishing for something new we should use what we have rather than waiting for the next (and best?) model. I can positively state that for 95% of the pictures we take the next model will not deliver a better results.
It's the photographer that makes the difference; and it's about time that message got through!!

Yeah sure. But if I make a crop of a 7D image and enlarge it to 13x19 you won't like it as much as the one from a 12Mp camera (or 18 or 24 or whatever it will be).
Don't worry I'm sure Sony we will have the best cameras lenses and flashes in the world if not for our kids then most likely our grandchildren

I just want to know two things- 1) is the 'flagship' model full-frame 2) will Sony be bringing the prices of their higher-end lenses down to a level that is comparable to that of Canon and Nikon.

third not all those people who work in the world of the photo become important and known names in the world, I am satisfied than I have realized in Italy and I hope to be able to still be busy good jobs even if small health problems will make me close in advance the activity

this is an example but there is a lot of situation where the pro camera is necessary. The nest week I have to do a job in a factory that produces glass, one of the locations is the area of the ovens where the temperature environment is among 55° and 68° I will go there with the alpha 100 but believe me with a tropicalized pro camera and even with 12/13 Mp (so that to be able to make more quickly the photos and to make then the shot in PP) it would not be badly.
