I would like to share some of my film images here. I know this is a digital forum, and I hope some of you don't mind me posting them here.

This will give some of you an idea of what can be done with old out dated antiquated equipment.

These were taken recently using either a Nikon F-100, and a 20 mm f/2.8, 50 mm f/1.4, or the 85mm f/1.4

I have a Nikon D-200, but I still both enjoy, and prefer to use the analog equivalent to the D-200 (F-100)

I scanned these using the Nikon Super-Cool-Scan 5000.

Images are in the next link.

SIGNATURE: This is a picture I did not take of a tall, greying man with crooked teeth whom I've encountered three times while photographing downtown, and each time, he's approached me quickly from the front, with a long stride, and each time he's leaned toward me and said the exact same thing 'OLD ONES ARE BETTER' while palming his ancient brass Leica, opening his hand enough to show me what's there, but not enough really showing-off!' That's what I see, and a good eye for unfolding events.

Well I put a new battery in my FM2 a while back so maybe it's time I put another roll of film in her and went out for a walk.

Joe,

I've enjoyed the many pictures you've posted here on DPReview and have to say you have a great feel and eye for street photography! You always inspire me to get out and shoot. Great job and keep posting those great shots.

George

Thanks George, I really appreciate the inspirational words.

I was not sure film images would be tolerated here, but I was convinced to take a chance after sharing a few with a supportive friend. (Thanks Pete)

Just a bit of sarcasm ;-)
Old maybe.

Thanks again Peter!

I bet you already have a lot of images taken with that FM2.

I would love to see a few when you are willing to share a few.

I may try one out as well---show me why i should ;-)

Now that you mention it, the poses are kind of lame. I need to find better models.

Thanks for viewing.

Some of the skin tones look a bit off - kind of brassy - and the
poses look a bit stiff :-)

It's good to see folks diffusing back to film, even here on DPR!

Which film did you use? The colors look very natural, and (at least at this size) there does not seem to be visible grain. I'm always surprised to see folks using color film, as I always associate film with B&W, but that's probably just me.

Not old . . . GOOD! :)

My F100 stays in the shoulder bag that goes everywhere with me. A NON camera bag / the bag that has my important day to day stuff. With a 105DC. Digitals stay at work and are pulled out when needed. Many times I take the Hasselblad but it overwhelms the bag by itself. The digitals get chunked in the car somewhere. smile . I have a Pelican they go in for jobs, but the F100 goes with me out of choice. Good to see your shots.

Hello Chris101,

I use Fuji Professional ASA 160. I shoot a lot of Black & White in my M3, but there was an incident and my 50mm is in the shop, so I will be shooting the F-100 for the time being. I'm looking forward to throwing some Black & White film in there soon.

Thanks Knox!

Long Live the F-100. An excellent camera. I'm having a blast using it.

Yes! Glad to see your images. I still get lots of enjoyment out of FE2 (backpacking camera) and F100 (street photography). While I do own a D70s, I find I get my best IQ for enlargements from good slide film (Astia or Velvia), fast primes, and Coolscan V. I'm not trying to start and argument or war, just my preference.

Please post some more images

Gene, trust me, I'm with you. I have an Olympus E-1, Nikon D-70 and the D-200, but I still prefer using my Leica Ms' or my Oms' or the F100.

I find film to be magnetic. I love the color fidelity, dynamic range, and the workflow. There is just something about it...like it's Organic or something.

The reason I say that is because on the Leica forum there was an incident.
I was not sure film images would be tolerated here ...
Why -- unless you don't feel very fondly about the audience?

Outdated? Nah! Try shooting with these:
