Can we get rid of Xania?

But also this one! I think it was back in Joe B.T. 'thread in November or maybe December. Look let's just stop fighting. What's the reason and what's the pont.

I'm a member of 3 major forums as well as dpreview and as far dpreview is concerned I post frequently in at least 6 different forums, Leica, the 4 Canon forums, sometimes in Pentax forum, the news forum, open talk, the pro forum the printing forum, a while back before the Leica Talk forum I posted a lot in the Panasonic forum and the other digicam forum...all on dpreview.

Now on all the above forums I have never been personally hounded , not even once. Except here on a forum I requested Phil to create. This one.

I'm not interested in continuing having harsh words with you, I don't wan't to increase the anomosity level, I want peace with you. I have seen and read some of your posts and you seemed like an ok person to me. You do contribute on foruma and in a good way. So please be an ok person toward me as well.

I will be a good person to you in the future. I don't want to fight and make enimies. I want to particapate in this forum and learn from people like you and all the many many other people who visit here and teach and help others.

I wrote the reply immediately before this post as a reply to euston. For some reason it appears 3 or 4 posts below his post that I was replying to.

I notice this happens every once and a while. So now my prior reply looks out of context and may be hard to understand why I wrote it.
I hate when that happens!

That's not a bad idea. She has wit and I trully beleive she is well meaning.

So yes I'll be using my 1973 Leica M5 film camera with my 50mm f/1.4 Summilux lens from around 1967 to take some photographs of the Nisaquague river near my home and I'll gladly post it into an Izania the judge thread.

That was a good idea. Also in my way I'm wishing for Ixania to open up a little and talk with us here on the Leica aTalk Forum.

I am 100% conviced that would be better than her being banned. No more trolling no more fighting just good talk!

I was able to open the second link and I agree it's good photography. I love meaningfull statements about life's conditions especially done in B&W film.

I don't want to detract from my first statement but I want to say that even if someone with that kind of talent were to post here frequently and that would be welcome, it still would not give good cause for the insulting of a new Leica camera owner.

One would hope and wish for a more open and productive dialog from such a good photographer too and for and with those who have achieved less.

According to all sorts of rumors I assume that Ixania is the
Phantom of the (Soap-)Opera, otherwise called "Leica Forum". Others
confirm, in addition, that he/she/it belongs to the species of
"Bitter Antipodes to RH Gentlemen".
His/her/its "low light capabilities" seem to be legendary (view the
thread in this forum).
Are you saying that you've found some posted photos of Ixania? Where?

MarkE,
I'm mostly sure the links provided by Engeln Albert are Ixania's. Not 100%

I think Ixania is a woman and she is from India. That's all I know about her.

I really don't think Ixania is a woman. Women usually aren't so divisive and negative.
I'd say Ixania is a 30-50 year old male who has few friends and relations.

Ok, Peter, so we do it. Can I give you the honour to start it? Or do you prefer I start the 'one and only Xania exclusively Leica competition'? And Xania, are you willing to participate?

I am thinking what image I should send...

Cheers,
Harold

Anybody noticed Xania has not entered into this discussion, mmmmmm, no defence, mmmmm, just wonder just who this person is, maybe it's an alias of someone very good with a camera who likes to tease.

No, Ixy is a peripatetic hit and run merchant. (s)he walks into the room, passes wind and then leaves before anyone can catch her/him.

There once was a flame-troll called Ix
Who's verdict on Leica was 'nix'
But after six months of claiming
It was critique not flaming
That troll has still not posted her pix.

Great! (Envy. I can´t do that in your language.)

Let´s hope that some jokes will finish this misled thread.

Well, I had some funny minutes, just now, and perhaps that works, too:

There was a critic named ´xania
who fought our leica-mania
but the tirades had, I guess,
not the faintest success,
because we have fun with top gear.

It's better than mine and it's not even your first language so, just for a giggle, here's a Mac Widget translation into German of mine...

Gut, Jah?

Your translation programme is superb; let some thousand limericks run through it, and you get a nonsense best seller.

Our landlord, last year, in Italy had all his e-mails, he sent us, translated into English with such a programme. We discovered that not before our arrival; so we had a perfect time there. Talking was more like gymnastic for our arms.

Greetings

I beleive Ixania is a smart and honest person and is giving her true opinions. My first wish is for her to slow down a little and allow us to get to know her as a person, rather than our finest critique.

The good M8 photographers here and also the new M8 owners who have neither a reputation as a photographer and whom may in fact not have much experience, should be given time to master the M8 and the lenses used on it. The good photographers by putting their trust in Leica and are them selves setting out in a new Rangefinder digital world I believe will produce quality work that will be a heratige to those who come after.

I'm not willing to see a novice or expert degraded because they have not yet reached their pinacle. I say give them time. That's my other wish for Ixania.
