Whats the best settings on the CP995 which will give me the best quality for an 8 x 10 color print? Should I be shooting on "Hi" quality at UXGA image size? Or can I shoot on "Fine" quality at UXGA image size? I'm a little confused about this I wanted to get some prints made using a chemical developer machine.

Hi Steve,

I'd be surprised if you get many answers from this. My guess is that if you want the "best" quality then take your pic at the highest resolution possible. This will ALWAYS yield the best photo. I've never heard of a lower resolution pic giving better photo quality than a higher resolution pic. Seems kinda backwards.

Definitely set you resolution to "fine" not "hi" It is slow to process, fills up the card quickly and there's no visual difference unless you plan to interpolate beyond 8x10

Scott

ps: post your camera questions on the Nikon board. Lots of cp995 owners there!

Thanks, Scott, that's what I needed to know. The vendor at the photofinishing store where I want my 8 x 10s made told me that "HI" settjng and UXVA size is imperative for good quality prints made from his chemical processing machine. But in the next breath, he tried selling me a 128 mb memory card for $129. I became very suspicious. "HI" setting takes up too much memory on my 64 mb card. So I'll try the "Fine" setting and see what happens.
