sorry for saying this and I know the Q was not for me.. but I just want to tell u that a friend of mine is using the TC-17E II (1.7x) and he is happy with it.

Sorry that I have none of his pictures to upload.

Which is best (if any) and what is the best way to use CS3 to
remove the cage from the background (more bur, clone, etc..)
While not CS3, here's a (very) quick example of the "fence" area blurred in Xara Xtreme...

Basically, I drew a vector shape around the fenced area, extracted the area, blurred it a few times, and reinserted it. It could be done better with a bit more time, but you get the idea...

Just for fun, here are few I have taken of cougars in the wild. I wish the conditions that day would have been better, but I did the best I could with what I had. Definitely a treat to see one of these in its natural habitat.

All nice images, thanks for sharing them.

Thanks. I am using the Kenko 1.4x. I really like it. I wish it would give me more reach but I have heard the 2x will have a negative effect on IQ. The Nikon tc that someone had mentioned will not work on our 80-200 2.8 although it is probably a better product.

Thanks Jeff that was a good job taking away the fence. Did you find it distracting when it was in the shot? I am just curious. It really bothered me.
