Canon G7 or Panasonic FZ50... which is better for me?

I have my camera choice narrowed down to the Canon Powershot G7 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50. Which would you suggest when comparing: macro ability; anti-shake; producing sharp, vivid pics; ability to shoot continuous photos (fps); image sensors and lenses; or any other specs that would be considered important. Those listed are important to me - I am not sure about the image sensors and lenses. I don't know what they mean, but apparently they are important when considering how sharp photos will be.

FZ50 if size is not a problem. More zoom, Raw Mode, Tilt LCD, Allows zooming during movies, fast.

it is compairing apples and oranges really.

the FZ50 is a dSLR like camera, the Canon is a Point and Shoot.

PLease tell us for what you want to use the camera in order for us to be able to give you constructive advice.

Check out the Panasonic forum if you like macros. Many use both the FZ50 and FZ8 (and their predecessors) with close up lens attachements for stunning macro work.
As was said above FZ50 vs. G7 is really apples and oranges.
