Hi guys,

I have been a lurker on these forums for a while when I was decided what camera to get. After reading many posts and reviews I decided on the D40. I love this camera. I have had it for about a month now and I love it. I am thinking of starting up a little side event photography business and sell my original photos also. Here is my website so far.

Any comments or suggestions would be great.
Thanks in advance!

What kind of processing (if any) are you doing?

I am a new user of the d40 as well, and have been having great fun doing shots with the kit lens but they're not close to as nice as yours - I was blaming my results on the lack of lenses! :) Must just be me

Yesterday I got the 55-200 vr and took this:

Which is about as good as I've gotten thus far.

Anyway, you have a lot of great shots on your site and the site itself is great - did you set that up yourself?

Thanks for the kind words. As for the website, yes i did set it up myself. I was trying to get up to times with web development and its CSS based. I used a great template which to start a site out from http://csstinderbox.raykonline.com/

I recently go tthe 55-200 VR also and i love it. I don't see why you are complaining about your shots, that one there is great. As for my workflow, I usually correct white balance if necessary, then I adjust the levels, saturation, sharpness, and if need be reduce noise. I just try to get the pic to look the best as possible. You might notice I love colors and I usually bump of the saturation. Not everyone likes it but I do.
