Okay, I finally took my wife out to play with her new H2. Take a guess where we went. Right! ....The local duck pond :-)

Keep in mind the fact that my wife has never owned her own camera, and her photography experience is.......well, she doesn't have any experience besides general family snapshot type stuff, and besides a few test shots, this was literally her first time using her new H2. When you see the pics, I think you'll be pleasently surprised by how well she did. I'm certainly proud of her :-)

I taught her the basic operation of the camera, and explained some basics on exposure and framing. I set the camera on "P" mode, with center focus and center metering. All picture settings were were normal, except I set contrast at low. Then I turned her loose.

The following pics were all shot by her, with the exception of the first and last. I did some mild PP and a few were cropped. I compressed them down to "medium" for posting here.

Here she is getting a shot of this very easy going duck.

And here's the shot.

Couple more of the same duck.

A couple other ducks.

Then I saw her scrounging around some bushes, and she came out with this shot.

Then she tried a flower shot.

Then she tried some landscapes.

She was even chasing around some kind of big bee!

I think she did a great job, and she had loads of fun. And now it seems we have one more thing in common :-)

Oh, and it seems the H2 did a fine job, too!

BTW, you didn't think I'd let you get away without seeing one of my favorite FZ50 pics of the day, did you?

So, here it is!

Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoyed the show!

Third one down makes me laugh. With its head cocked and eye half shut, it appears to be blushing.

She did very well indeed! I especially like the second landscape.

Take the scenic route! Life is too short to do otherwise.

Mrs. Rooski has a good eye to go with that fine camera, and I liked your perspective on the first shot. Well done, all of them.
Thanks for sharing.

........for the comments!

I must add, for the money spent on the H2, it's a bargain. It has a high success rate for getting the focus and exposure right, and produces some good "out of camera" IQ. I don't think I could have picked a better camera for her to start out with. She was thrilled with the results.

Her pics Look a lot better than yours. Glad she had fun.
Since you took the time to answer a question nobody asked, maybe you can elaborate on your statement so I know where your coming from. To make it easy for ya, here's a list multiple choice responses. Just pick the ones that apply:

A: I was just joking and forgot to add the little winky face ;-)

B: Your wife is obviously a better photograher then you.

C: Your Panny just has horrible IQ and you can't post Panny pics here.

D: Don't mind me, cause I'm just a Sony fanboy.

Thanks ;-)

I'd say she's off to a great start! And she has a good teacher, it seems.
