Ordering a 17" MBP and was looking for input on the 2 different display types. Will be doing picture editing and slideshows, powerpoint presentations and normal day to day stuff.
Is the glossy display better for this kind of work?

Thanks
Bob

When I heard the MacBook Pros were offering these two display types, I was totally bummed since I bought mine before the glossy option. But then I thought about it some... doesn't glossy reflect? Would I be dealing with glare?

For what I do, graphics and the such, glare is annoying. But is there glare? I'm just guessing.

For everyday use, if there is glare, you'd be ok. Glossy screens display sharper and more vibrant colors. I always preferred the glass of a CRT over the matte of a flat panel. And in controlled lighting environments, glare isn't too much of a problem.

It would be nice if you could choose both and switch them at will. =]

seriously,

I went with glossy on my MBP, and really like it. It doesnt seem as "glossy" as other laptops I've seen. I have no problems with reflection.

I should say that I use a 23inch ACD for actual PP tho, and use the MacBook for showing clients their images. The extra sharpness and saturation comes in handy in this area.
