Hi,

I'm fairly new to this forum and just starting out at photography, although I have followed some of the threads here for a while. This is my first image posting and I would like some advice / feedback on a couple of images I have taken recently. I think they look ok, but I already know there are some problems with them, but in order to accelerate my learning I would also like to hear anyones thoughts on how they could be improved from composition to processing.

The fog picture was taken in Singleton, NSW at sunrise towards the sun. K10, 16-45 lens, f/8, 1/30, ISO 400 - No postprocessing.

(I hope I got the image posting right too!)

The sunny picture below was taken about midday on South Stradbroke Island Queensland. 16-45 lens, f/6.7, 1/1000, ISO 100 - Small bit of playing with levels and curves.

Looking forward to hearing your comments

Thanks

Yeh, I like them Jon. You are following the traditional rules of composition (lead-in and rule of thirds) and that makes for strong images.

Only issue I have with the first one is the close fence post is a little distracting. I know it forms part of the lead-in but it just sort of hits you in the corner of the eye and draws you to look towards it when really the fence line should be drawing you in. Maybe you could have move around a bit there and not made th post quite a prominent (step back a few steps so it is still there but not so boldly?)

Anyway, I am not complaining, still a very nice image and i just hope my comments are thought provoking as I think we never stop learning about making better and better images....
