zoom blur effect

I don't think it's overdone, but you might want to shift it a little to the left; the way it is now the blur makes it appear she is heading straight at the camera, but the position of the bike and her body indicates there is also movement across the frame from left to right. A niggle, but it might enhance the impression of movement.

I like it....my only suggestion would be to mask out some of the blur so as to give her some ground to be on....

Thanks Peter, good point, I'm like a kid with a new toy and its easy to go overboard with it.

Thanks Kent, It was done with Paintshop Pro XI, - it has built in adjustments for the point of origin and the amount, the hard part is brushing back the effect in layers to reveal the rider without including the very cluttered background. Practice practice practice......
Take a look at:

"Kent's LensBlur" action - has a mask to tweak amount of blur and
where you want the focus. Check out the rollover example there...
