Again, a variety of images as I try to learn...hopefully you can find one or two that make you smile! Enjoy, and let me know what you think...

Sorry, Midwest, starting off with macros again - hope they're unique enough to enjoy anyway ;-}

Unpicked 4-leaf clover

Real smoke created a flower shape....just added color to hightlight...

And where there's smoke...sparks from a campfire....

and the 3d

A friends new baby

And finally, my (blind) dog...

Enjoy!

Nice work, Bill. That rose smoke was very creative one. I thought that the rose was in the background.

  1. 4 and #5 are my favorites; excellent!

Thanks, Tim - glad you could 'see it' Some people give me a hard time because they can't do the 'eye thing'. I'm a big fan of these, trying different scales and degrees....I'll post a few more next time.

A very creative set, Bill. You make superb use of a shallow depth of field and there never seems to be any distracting clutter in the background. The most surprising photo to me was the sparks from the campfire. You have a good eye.

Thank you, Björn I appreciate your comment. I was pleased with the 'sparks', too. I saw them, but never thought I'd catch them on the pic.

So glad you enjoyed them!

Very nice, but something is wrong with the first one for me? was this hand held or have you done something to it, you have the bug nice but why is it's back-end not as sharp as it's head? and the backgroung looks as if it as movement in it.

You must be drunk to say that! ...kidding, just read your orther post that it's your birthday, and in fact, are drunk!

Anyway, I was using a tripod, but more as a monopod, as I collapsed the legs and was moving it forward and back to adjust focus. I was also on the R-250 at full 420mm, so DOF is crazy-small. I focused on the head, which created a soft butt. I kinda liked the soft focus overall, and didn't want to reduce from 420mm.

So, the moral of the story is... "one man's soft butt is another's ...STOP - put your own joke here.....

I am and i thank you, just opened another can what the ek it is my b/d 59 today lmao, this was taken today with the 250X150 stacked and i see no out of focus from the head to the tail no pp and no crop just out of the cam on 8MgEz jpeg.

So, the moral of the story is... "one man's soft butt is another's ...one's Triumph over his opponent. lol

LOL - great picture - maybe I should back off the 420mm to get more DOF next time - and get the broad view rather than 'from behind' - thanks!

Hi Bill,

I really like the blue and gold flower and water drop macro (but I couldn't do the 3-D thing at all, bummer) and the dog shot. I am glad to hear that she does not know she is blind. She looks very sweet - I have a soft spot in my heart for older pets (well, really, any pet).

Thanks for sharing,
