Tokyo in 2 days

I have an opportunity to visit Japan (Tokyo) to give a talk. Given that it is so far, I want to add a few days to take pictures before returning. Any recommendations of where to go for day trips out of Tokyo that would offer great opportunity for photography. Any warnings ? P.S. I don't want to shoot typical touristy pictures !

P.S. I guess there should be no problem finding good film there. (Oh I forgot this is a digital photography website ... I am a dinosaur)

I lived in Japan for about 8 months... shooting anything is great!!!! It's so different there, you're going to find great shots everywhere. As far as film goes, they have everything- cost is another issue! I would try and get a good digital and shoot till the cows come home! I'm jelious... I loved it there! Have a great trip!
