Being a panny owner since the FX9 (which i still use) i added the TZ2 shortly. A few days ago i had the opportunity to take some pics with a FZ 50 of a friend of mine. I took some really impressive pictures that convinced me to buy the FZ 50. I also considered the Sony H9 but adding the memory stick to my portfolio and reading some very curious posts concnerning the H9 i finally decided for the FZ 50. I "grew up" with megazooms using the H1 which i sold some months ago. The TZ2 is a great little camera which i will use besides the new FZ 50. I hope i made the right decision. My dealer told me the FZ50 will be there for me by wednesday next week. I am looking forward to showing you my very first pictures with the FZ 50. Thanks a lot to all the people here on this forum who helped me decide.

You'll enjoy your FZ50. I am really happy with mine. Take some time to learn what its strengths and limitations are and use that information to help you take the best possible pictures. This is one heck of a camera; when I see people in other forums knocking Panasonic and raving about their fuzzy-focused, purple-fringed cameras, I just think 'enjoy what you have; I wouldn't trade my FZ50 for it.' No way. '

You made a good choice. Avoid shooting at ISO over 200 unless you can shoot RAW, if you are planning to print very large photos. Otherwise, keep the NR setting on low and the other settings on medium mostly.
