Tripod suggestions for cp995

Hi,
This is the Velbon tripod that I use...

It is a good price, sturdy and very versatile. The centre post can be unscrewed in the middle for the low profile set-up, or reversed up-side-down.
You can also get other heads and accessories for it.

I think the US name for it may be EFL-3.

Yours sincerely,

Any suggestions on which tripods are good for using the 995 for
average use?

Bought a very nice Velbon at Fry's for 19.95. Works great, and extends up to 6' so I dont have to croutch. The higher end models were 39.95 and 49.95.

Went to Ritz camera a few days later and the same tripods were 49.95, 59.95, and 69.95.

You might consider a Benbo Trekker. It is extremely versative and well made. On the minus side, it is fairly large and cumbersome to collapse and can tip if you are not careful. I have three tripods, and I use the Benbo most with my 995 due to its versatility. The main pod is like a macro rail, allowing for all manner of ground shots.

Here is a link that covers the plus/minus. BTW, I got mine on a promotional sale for $110 Cdn which made the decision much easier.

how low to the ground can you get the camera? according to the stats over at B&H it's 11", but the picture makes it seem a lot lower.
