Current equivalent to A1?

Hello,

Agreed about weddings in the main being DLSR territory. What I've done in the past is tried to take candid shots that stay out of the way of the professional photographers at weddings. I've often ended up with interesting friends & family shots that the wedding party likes. If they don't turn out, no harm done.

At the last wedding I attended the pro turned to shoot the bride when she entered the church foyer. What I got that she didn't was the groom starting to break up when he saw the bride in her dress for the first time. A monopod and stabalization made for a nice no-flash picture on an A1....

Get a used A2
Check at keh.com They have a 14 days return policy.
Ordered mine on Sunday, received today. $364.00
You may have to update the firmware to 1.14. No big deal.
Works like a charm, sorry, works like the A1 but a little better.

The A1 has its strengths as does the A2. In some respects, the A1 actually performs better than the A2. In other respects, for example the EVF viewer, the A2 is superior. It dependends on what one is looking for and determines to be important. Most people who've been posting here for a long time and have owned/used each camera know these distinctions.

With any luck the A2 will serve me well until such time
sensor technology advances to the point that a camera with similar
functional qualities and compact size produces exponentially
superior image quality at higher ISOs.
I’m waiting for the same.

I recently spent $700 for a (new) A2 (practically the money for an entry level DSLR) but I am very satisfied with my A2 and don’t regret those $$.
