Hello!

I have ordered a T100 and is thinking about what memory speed I would need. Is a regular Memory Stick Pro Duo enough or should a buy a Ultra II or even a Extreme III?

Is the video or burst mode depending on what speed the memory card has or is the bottleneck in the cameras interface?

Thanks!

I just purchased the T100 but have not opened the box yet. I'm looking for some reviews of the camera and soliciting the opinions of owners as to if this is a good camera to supplement my pro bodies for everyday carrying and candid shots. Any advice?

Yea! and I am sure you will love it. Very small compare to your pro equipments. 1/2 size smaller than your pro external flash. IF your external flash for pro camera uses 4 AA batteries, T100 is about 6 AA line up.

I am very happy with my T100.

Thanks for the info. I purchased it having done very little research. It just looked good and felt good in my hands and the feature set and menus were simple and easy. I wanted opinions of those who have worked with it and wondered about image quality. It's easy to get spoiled with pro equipment. I just need to have realistic expectations and know it's the best for the money and for a simple point and shoot to easily carry in my pocket.

Hi Tom

If you are looking to use this camera for indoor photoes using flash or high ISO, seriouly reconsider T-100. I bought one and sold it off. It has very week flash and very aggressive NR. Yes if indoors is not your main usage, it produces vry good out door and macro shots. I donot know about the Movie mode. Please go through the T-100 threads in this forum.

Tom,

I agree with Baig on the indoor use of T100. If you take the time, the T100 still gives you good pictures.

Since you have pro stuff and were talking about everyday, go places, photography, T100 gives good images. I am sure any pocket camera in your hands will churn out good images.

Zooming can be used while capturing videos. Sound reproduction is good.

Zoomng Video, Macro, 5x zoom, Outdoor, Small, 8mp, works for me. Just like carrying a blackberry.

There are other brands that are cheaper that will take as good a photo as T100 for outdoor photo. I just like this T100 as a whole. To me, it is not much more than Canon, Fuji, Casio, Nikon, Ricoh, Pentax, Samsung, BenQ. Frankly I have more than one camera and for this matter, more than one pocket camera. I love them all. I post process the ones I like to show people, and for prints as well.

Bellefield has a few indoor party flash pictures taken at iso80.

Look at the lady with necklace in the 3 photos, metering on her was very good, dont you think?

Yes, if you use P mode, fix the ISO at 80 and remain within 5 feet of the subject, every thing will turn out good. But the question is would it be nice to snap/ flash people in their faces. The flash range mentioned in the specs is 12.1 feetat AUTO ISO but what has not been mentioned is that here Auto ISO means ISO 400. If you use little zoom the ISO jumps to 800 with heavy NR. Rest is all fine. It all depends how yuo are going to use it.

I tok several trial shots at Best Buy and noticed the noise reduction was very aggressive. How well does Neat Image clean this up? How is the battery life with that large 3 inch LCD turned on all the time? How effective is the Image Stabilazition feature in that there is no view finder to hold the camera steady against you? How scratch resistant is the LCD? If I need to hide the camera in a case I've lost the benefit of it's thin size and easy carryability in my pocket.

Baig,

I agree with you that SONY has misled with ad. that states flash photography is good for up to 12ft and we all expect that to be for iso 100.

But when people in party such as those 3 photos that Bellefield had posted 5-6 pages ago, people do post in groups of 2-5 and smile for the camera.

Since I have the T100 and now know this limit, I will work within it. Good information here, I must say, for people who are considering a camera like T100.
Tom,

I paste the ScratchGuard upon purchase of this camera. I wont dare to scratch it to prove a point. A small thin leather case is good enough and I can wear it on my belt. I dare not put it on my back pocket.

Noise Ninja cleans up well IF the picture is taken within 1 stop of proper exposure. Otherwise, we know that we badly want that picture no matter what it takes, then nn do clean up. In general, good to have one of these noise cleaner.

I tested the T100 with full charge (6 hours) and took 380 pictures with shut down and power up a few times the other day in good light and shopping centre. Screen will always be on, no other way. Since it focuses automatically, I tend to hold it closer to me and I have not tested how effective Steady Shot is. I know it is there. If 1/4 shutter is too slow, then I know it must be the SS that has help me get that clear enough shot (I know it is not sharp).

When I point it at people, people do not like cameras pointing at them, they do not even know that I am doing it cause the lens is not protruding like other types. Thats why I bought this one. People (strangers) on the street and in shopping malls react differently to my other pocket cameras that have protruding lens. Thats the way people here are. Perhaps in US, Downunder, Europe, people respond instead of react to cameras pointing at them. So I know what cameras to use in different occasion.

Thank you Zheni for the information and your experiences.
