What is the best (less worse) about downloading files?

I have a 350D.

In one hand I can download directly from camera, what means folding back that rubber cap that seems to have a limited life, (I own a cellphone that sports one of those caps for about 1 year and the cap is just awful..)

In other hand I have a dedicated memory reader, which means I have to eject and re-insert the CF card increasing the chances to have those bended pin issue.

Once I have to d/l the files (of course), I ask to old owners: what is more reasonable, keep downloadind directly from camera or go for a CF reader?

I download using a card reader- I have more than one memory card so already I'm moving them in and out of the camera. I've never had issues with pins bending but this is a worry to some people. There have been times (previous cameras) when a card reader was definitely faster. I don't know now as I don't download through the camera.

I can download faster from the camera using a USB2 port than I can using my built in card reader. Over 2 years and the rubber flap is still like new.

Card reader. In three years, no bent pins. That's over 2500 shots, and card in and out of camera and reader lots of times. If you "feel" it, you know when the card is "right" before you push it in.

Again, my concern was about having my cap as ugly as my cellphone's.

I'll keep d/l'ing from camera, unless until getting more cards, I think I don't need a reader as I have just one CF.
Thanks again!

Outside of a lab somewhere, you won't find a CF card that can even approach that kind of throughput.
