discovered this by accident.. in my view its not a good idea to lock two or more AA type batteries together.. they need to be able to slide indepenently of each other else there is a strong danger of them not making a good contact with the bridging strips in the holders..
so i split my kodak pack apart.. ie.. removed the offending plastic bit... after a while it dawned on me that th docking station wasnt chargeing the batteries... he he..
closer investigation revealed a small sliding micro switch inside the batter compartment.. now we know why kodak have joined a couple together.. a neat way of making proprietory batteries out of ordinary ones.. he he .
there is a small teg on the plastic battery joiner that pushes this switch down when the batteries are inserted in the camera.. if the switch isnt down the charger dosnt charge..
the switch is in a little slot about a quarter of an inch wide on the side of the cameras battery compartment.. to make your docking station charge any ni cad or ni mh other than the kodak proprietory ones.. this switch needs to be held permanently down.. cut a small piece of thin card or plastic the same width as the slot.. put it into the slot and gently hold/push it down.. keep it in place with a small strip of clear tape.. its quite easty to do and once done you can use any brand of rechargeable batteries in your dx and the station will charge them..
