Does D40 support 8gb SDHC card?

Hello everyone,

I have a question.

Does D40 support 8gb SDHC card i.e. listed in this url http://www.pricespy.co.nz/pno_10157.html?

I called nikon new zealand. They told me that they don't know. They only know that d40 support 4gb.

It will take ages to fill an 8G card even will raw since D40 has 6MP sensor. But is will be nice if it's supported anyway.

SDHC is a standard that the D40 supports so I see no reason why an 8GB card wouldn't work.

I got my kingston 8gb sdhc class 6 card today and it works in my d40 camera. ;-)

You must take an awful lot of pictures to need that big of a card on a D40. I prefer buying 1 or 2 Gig cards and switching out if I need to. Cards can go bad, and putting all your eggs in one basket seems risky to me. Dave
