I'm OT again.

Did he say not to ride at all, or did he say it would be better not to ride. In that case he's allowing you to ride, as long as you take it easy.

Doctors don't always know best, but some of them have lots of experience. (keep in mind I'm not a doctor)

That is going to cramp your style if you can't ride anymore.

Do you have good public transit that would take you to the parks, etc. where you like to hang out? How about walking? Anything close by that would give you lots of photo ops?

Take care of yourself!

Only two people got shot and killed and one killed in a fight on the buses in the last two months.

It's sad and one hates to say it for fear of being labeled biased. But the young black kids make it so unpleasant to ride with their loud vulgar behavior. It's like they are saying we are here and what the matha f*c* you gonna do about it.

You could just see the hurt in the eyes of the older black people. It is just amazing how so few are able to make life nasty for the rest. But it is truly unpleasent to ride the bus in this neighborhood.

Hmmm, he suggested three-wheeler?

Does sound like it could be more to do with balance than the effort aspect. But it does leave the quesion open. Double checking could be a good idea.

Getting to and from places to take beautiful pictures ... that's so much ... well ... from what I've been coming to kknow since I joined this forum ... it's ... Part of you.

You take care

I'd recommend you to follow doctor's advice. It will not harm you and after a while you will discover positive sides of a new life style.

Best wishes

The three wheelers I have seen make it a bit easier to carry "stuff"
than two wheelers, so that may be useful to you. How much do
one of those things cost?

When a hammer is your only tool, all problems begin to look like nails.

I depend on sight to maintain balance and on dark days or after sunset I have real problems. Wobble all over (sorta like I am drunk) and need a light on at night or often fall if I have to get up at night.

That has been hard on furniture in the past.

I know they are expensive, I've built two trikes about 15 years ago.

We've sold them a couple of years ago, now I own a home made lowracer and a velomobiel (a full enclosed recumbent).
If you eventually get one I'm sure you will love it.
(if you want you can take a look at the brol site (bentridersonline).
Your health comes first.

If you could get your hands on a recumbent tricycle, I'm sure you'd like it. You can go faster and easier on one and with a lockable and waterproof cargo box like I use, it's possible to carry more things-----like a camera and all the extras. They cost more than an upright bike, but you might find a used one if you make inquiries at bike shops in the area. I'd say that things would be better if you didn't give up bike riding, if you can figure out how to do it safely. The exercise and mobility will keep you feeling better.

If doctors say that the human being uses about 10% of brain capacity....
isn't there a 90% chance they're wrong?

I have fallen too many times, most of my jeans and slacks have holes in the knees from falling. I knew I was in a bit of trouble the first time I rode in light snow and looked back at my tracks.

You would have thought that the person riding must have had a bit too much Christmas Cheer. Good flavored Egg Nog will get you every time.
