Best UK memory card deal

Hi,

I don't know if it's the best deal, but I buy most of my stuff from Warehouseexpress.co.uk. I've just received a 4GB Sandisk Extreme III for £47 from them. I think I found it a bit a bit cheaper eleswhere (i.e £5 or so) but I buy from them because of there great service, returns have never been a problem.

Be careful who you cross on the way up. You might meet
them on the way down.

Personally i wouldn't go with a cheap unbranded one. Spend a bit
more and get an established, tried and tested one from the likes of
Sandisk or Lexar.
The last thing you want to happen is to lose 4 gigs of unbacked-up
data.
They are manufactured by Toshiba and I have had no problems in 18 months with mine. They can all fail I had a 1 GB Sandisk go belly up last year.

I agree with Warehouseexpress.com offering a great service; I buy all my lenses+ flashguns from them, with Bodies I don't always buy from them but go to local suppliers like London Camera Exchange & unfortunately Jessops.

For Memory I get mine from play.com as they are offering extremely great prices in Sandisk memory cards...

I bought 2 x 2gig Sandisk cards from Costco a couple of weeks ago @ £17.99 each. Can't recall if they had 4gig ones but I would think so? Personally I prefer to spread my shots across a couple of cards just in case.

There's another similar one at MyMemory - 4GB for 18 quid.

I have one of these, it's in my 20D now, as well as many of the 1 and 2GB cheapies from 7Day Shop - all have had good use. In fact, people around me have been so impressed, I've ordered several for family members etc. No one has had any problems with any of them in over 2 years of use and travel etc. As you say, most of them show up as Toshiba made - certainly the 7 Day Shop ones do. The 4GB above shows download times slightly faster than my Sandisk Extreme IIs.

I do use them for important shoots (although I religiously back up before deleting anything too and whilst on the move and especially if the content is important - with all cards equally, I don't discriminate by brand, or lack of it) and would be happy to buy them again.

Hi,
Thanks for everyone's help.

I decided to get 2GB Sandisk Extreme III from Play.com at £17.99

I think I'll notice the increase in speed - never used a high speed card before.

Cheers
