Clau,

Haven't have the change to try RAW yet. But so far I like it very much. Compare with my DX7590, they both have their strong point. I can't say for sure which is better, I guess depend on the applications.

In general term, 880 is a bit more natural, but in term of color saturation 7590 has the edge.

Will try RAW sometime, but not sure will the time edit each pictures with RAW.

lovely :) your lense shows very little distortion at full wide angle :)

Got a DX/P, taken a shot, blank EVF ? no worries, use the shutter button the camera can still take pictures, even if you can't see.

Claus, Good to see more of your home town again. Beautiful colors and composition--I really like the third shot of the tower bracketed by the evergreen trees.

Raw is therefore, you can make your pictures just have the look like your
DX 7590 or like an DSLR,or somtinge els.
In general term, 880 is a bit more natural, but in term of color saturation 7590 has the edge.
I notice thad to the colors where harder, and the exposure abit darker, giving super prints, unfortenly the P880 is more naturell.
and I must say I love strong colors, hehe.

but in raw you can do just the same.

I am not talking to saturate more in jpg, there is an big diference ones you run Raw.
Will try RAW sometime, but not sure will the time edit each pictures with RAW.
Most programs do batch programs,So if you like more blue sky or more green three's you can batch the whole set at ones.

But it is true every picture have a bit more work.
then Jpg,but the results are better.

have fun :)

In good light and for landscape I most use F6.3 or F5.6 for most of my pictures, distortion is almost gone thad way,in raw you can fix abit more.

Also there are 3 party software thad can do the job for jpg like adobe lightroom.

Sound like my olympus E-10.

Hey Claus,

I loved the lilacs. They have such a wonderful scent but unfortunately they don't grow well out here on the 'left coast'. We missed you but I see that you haven't lost any of your artistry. Wonderful depictions of spring! Thank you for sharing!

Hahaaaa Yes I remember thad :)
I think I am learn more from raw then from Jpeg.

you can do so muts more, but it cost alot of time to proces every picture, and I learnt some new technieck to batch proces the simple things.

I shoot raw becouse I have the time,
So if you work shoot jpg,if you are home shoot raw hahaaa:)

It is just to fill up my days, and the pictures look an tad better if you do it yourself.

It is true Jpeg is alraidy verry good for the P880
the A100 is alot better in raw then jpeg, even the D70s

just like the Canon G7 there is no raw in it,but I doubt I can do better then canon.

live is an journey.
and exploring is an part of it :)
We switch sides. I remember we had this long discussion - I said RAW was worth shooting if the person had time, and you were saying, no, no, JPEG for the P880 is very good, no need to waste time and effort doing RAW. And now you shoot RAW and I shoot more JPEG (80% of the time).

I do see that some of these pp programs store various profiles which can be applied to a batch of photos. I haven't got into these enough. What are you using now? Lightroom?

By the way, the first pic with the road - it appears to have lost some detail in the highlights. At your flickr, which ones are your new RAW processed photos?

Unfortenly Lightroom do not work in windows vista,So I am back to adobe CS 2

All the new pictures I took in the last 3 weeks are from Raw.
You can see it I created an new album.
P880-1 for example are all raw
And raw vs Jpeg are also raw.
the rest is coming.
I have 2 weeks of pictures thad I have to convert now.
Next week there wil be rain so plenty of time then.
Thanks for looking.:)

Not to be stupid but what does taking the pictures in RAW and converted to jpeg mean? Don't know unless you ask.
When you take an picture in Jpeg the firm of the camera use the best algoritme to make thad picture look good.

Unfortenly not all pictures are good becouse the same algoritme is used for any picture.
You can see it like auto on your camera.
somtimes you have exelent pictures, somtimes not.

When you shoot in raw,the camera do not use the noise reduction, sharpening, color balange, white balange ,the camera normal aplied to the jpeg files,So in other words you have to do it your self.
and thad is exact wat raw is.
direct output from the censor.

without any auto settings aplied,so you can use an raw converter to make thad picture look the way you want :)
hope this help a bit.
