I just ordered a G7 and am wondering if anyone has any case recomendations for me.

In response to your rant about IP infringement, I have no evidence (and unless I'm missing something - neither do you) to prove that Canon China didn't authorize the smooth leather version for sale in China and Hong Kong. I used the terms 'fake' and 'genuine' in quotations in my post to reflect this. In fact, I was assured by the supplier that it was 'genuine', and was given no reason to doubt their word. I haven't had any problems with 'subtle detailing in fit and finish and accuracy'. Of course, that would be hard to determine simply by looking at photos on a computer screen.I still would buy the Canon case
now, as long as I can afford it. Photographers involved in
protecting their intellectual property have no problem supporting a
knock-off outfit ripping off someone else's design, so long as it's
cheap and available.
You obviously toiled cobbling that one together. I meant you no harm, so relax. Is the front part of your 'genuine' case curved on the inside, or
flat?

On the subject of hypocrisy, you seem quite happy to circumvent
Canon's 'right' not to make their case available in the USA by
deviously importing from Australia. Some might argue that you're
being a little selective in your interpretation of the ethics of
copyright.
