Macro with reversed lens.....

Mark...not sure if you were joking about the D40 forum not liking these, but they are silly if they dont! These are super macro shots! love that reflection in the JS eyes...all the eyes! LOL!

Good ones, I can see in his (spider) numerous eyes that you had a diffuser on your flash. Which was it? Perhaps the D40 newbies were put off by the insect porn - lol. I'm sure most of the rank and file just loved them all.

In the spirit of Occam’s Razor one should embrace the less complicated formulation or simply put, less is more.

Hi Mark,

Macro photography is my favorite and I'm doing fine with 105VR, converters & extention tubes but, after seeing your fantastic results one or two years ago with reverse rings I bought one and tried, tried and tried and finally gave up..., I can't get pictures in focus with this technique... I barely have enough light coming in to focus properly...What's the secret? What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for sharing,

I prefer one really good picture in a day over 10 bad ones in a second...

No secrets. What I do is tilt the lever at the back (now front) to open the aperture to let the light in. When focus is achieved I do 2 things at the same time. Let go of the lever and click the pic. The whole part of standing still is the hardest part. ;)

cheers, mark

and thanks!
