Was looking around the other forums just now and noticed something very interesting.
The last post on the first page of the Fuji SLR forum was posted 7 days ago.
The last post on the first page of the Nikon SLR forum was posted 19 hours ago.

The last post on the first page of the Olympus SLR forum was posted 12 hours ago.
And finally.....
The last post on the first page of the Canon SLR forum was posted 2 hours ago.

Is it just me or is this proof that Canon's SLR's are by far the most popular - even with all the whinning and complaints everyone has to admit - deep deep down you realy love your Canon - otherwise you would have been over in one of the other forums.

We're just crazier than those other folks.

Or is it because I'm in this forum, and not the others?

Well, it could be like this too..

The canon cameras have ALOT of problems and everyone that have a canon is in this forum to discuss problems, errors etc

The ones with Nikon and fuji etc is all out and taking shots... =)

I would imagne it's directly proportional to sales. I think Canon sold a ton of D30's, while Nikon and Fuji never really got their sales off the ground. john

My vote is for DavidP being on this board leading to all the increase in traffic.

I bet Phil is hoping David doesn't buy a second camera that is not a Canon, else he'll have two board overflowing :))

Maybe the other forums contain more substance than fluff. I've got to look carefully in this forum to find posts that actually are beneficial to me. They're few and far between these days. Nevertheless, I've still gained more information from this forum over the past year than any of the others combined.

I came from a background of 2 full minolta setups (which included a 9000 back when they were serious about real cameras) then traded it all in on the E10. That left me longing for a system camera - got the D30 in may and just love the Canon lenses - should have gone canon before - needed the incentive)

Anyway- that prolog is just to explain the following - the E10 forum used to be the busy one. When I was researching the D30 the canon forum was dead compared to the Olympus forum. This switch in activity IMHO has to be due to the great success of the D30.

As far as crazyness goes - yes it gets silly hear now and then - but on the Olympus forum anyone hear of Dr Gonzo? Staying out of all that - the threads of controversy of silly issues often having nothing to due with anything go on and on over there. This may be another reason the Olympus forum has dropped down in popularity.

I'll stick with the first reason though - the canon forum is busy because of canon's success.--John Mason - Lafayette, IN

yes - see my note below - but on second thought DavidP may be the sole reason :)

I agree with you on that one - there might be alot of complaints about canon in here, but in the end of the day, canon must have done something right to make these complainers buy their products in the first place.....

Heh... yeah... I know Gonzo. Had a few run ins with him in the Minolta forum. Him and a couple other people.

I agree. Canon has made wonderful products. I own the D30 and love it. I just got my first L lens. The complaints about the D60 aren't really about the D60 but more about Canon not doing enough with the D60.

--- Canon D-30 & PowerShot S100- Maybe one day I'll take a decent picture. In the meantime, I'll blame the equipment. :)
