Which of this is a better option? The price difference isn't that much. I was able to find only one review for the Pantone eye-one display LT, but can't find any reviews on the ColorVision Spyder 2 Suite. Which product gives more control for monitor calibration?

I had a Spyder, and bought a Spyder2Express. I was not satisfied. Of course, I have a 64 bit system, and the drivers never worked consistently. The interface on the Spyder2 was rather primitive.

I bought the EyeOne 2, and I'm very happy. I have dual LCD (it seems to recognize them). The manual white balance using the RGB controls was clear and accurate. The color profiling was fairly quick and accurate.

All in all, a much better purchase.

AndyEllen,

Did you get the LT version?

I have been looking at the Pantone eye one 2 and can get it at a reduced price. There are a couple of questions.

1. With the X rite buyout will the Pantone be supported? Pantone is not showing Eye1 match 3.61 on their website. Would any of this matter?

2. Do you actually push the suction cups on a LCD screen? Sounds sort of scary to me. Do the Spyder 2 use suction cups

3 There is $50 difference between LT and pro is it worth it?

I have been reading about this stuff for days and the more I learn the less I seem to know any help will be most appreciated. Dennis

I have the Spyder2 Pro package and am quite happy with it. As for reviews, I did a quick search using Google on "colorvision spyder2 review" (no quotes used in actual search) and got several hits. Here are a few you can check:

http://www.drycreekphoto.com/Learn/monitor_calibration_tools.htm

http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/article_pages/spyder2pro.html

http://www.camerahobby.com/Digital_ColorVisionSpyder2.htm

http://www.photographyblog.com/reviews_spyder2pro_studio.php

There were others including some that I cannot include above as they are in the DP Review block list.

I hope this helps,
