I have ordered the QV3000 and am waiting for it to be delivered (by the way, got it from http://www.theweb-shop.com for $965, no state taxes in california and shipping $13 -- total $978!).

My question concerns reviews that indicate the images have a bluish cast. Programs like Photoshop can easily correct for brightness and contrast. Is there an easy way to remove a color cast?

PS I am a novice at photography.

I read all the available on-line reviews before buying the Casio QV3000. None of them mentions a bluish-cast. However, the Canon S10 and S20 have both been heavily criticised for this flaw.

Not familiar at all with that problem... Where did you hear about it?

Visit any of the sample links located throughout this forum, and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

This has not been my experience with the Casio, however pretty well every picture I have ever taken, and got onto my computer, whether it be from a digital camera or a scan from a film camera, has benefitted from a little work in Photoshop.

The steps I take as a matter of course are balancing the white's, adjusting the levels and adding an unsharp mask. Scans from film take a long time, digital images from my Casio need practically no help at all.

I have a plug in from Extensis called Intellihance Pro, and that does a very good job of automatically balancing everything out. Some think that the colours end up a little too rich on screen, but for the printer I use, an Epson Photo EX, the results are well balanced.

Take a look here at the results of the Casio, plus Photoshop, plus Intellihance Pro. Let me know what you think. If you want the raw pictures, I can send those too, just give me the one you want and you can compare for yourself.
