I took a series of pictures that I would like to stitch together for a panoramic image. I didn't use the Oly mem card, so Camedia 2.0 doesn't see them as pano shots and I can't get to the panoramic feature of Camedia to do this. Can anyone suggest a way around this? Is there a byte or two within the jpeg file that could be changed to make the file look like a pano shot?

Thanks for the suggestion.

Here is the result:

I didn't do anything but import the pictures and let the software do the rest. In the lower left and upper right corners it didn't crop it properly, and it seems to have darken the image a bit. It wasn't that overcast that day. I can easily adjust the cropping and the brightness, but I wanted to show the end result and how good the software is!

Thanks again for the tip.

Hi Inigo.

That's a nifty little trick especially for us E-100 owners that don't have the pano function. I'll have to give it a try some time.

Thanks, Maxven

The E-100 (at least mine) comes with Camedia v2.5, and with the
v2.5 to v2.51 update available at:

http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_downloads.asp?Category=Digital+Camera&Product=644&OS=Win

You get an additional stitch option of "Panorama 2d" which can be used
to stitch any images in up to a 4x4 grid. Give it a shot.

Note: Having previously had Camedia 1.1 (D400z) and 2.0 (Uzi) on
my system, in order for the upgrade to actually work I had to completely
uninstall Camedia and start with a clean re-install of v2.5 off the disk that
came with the E-100.

Now just shoot your "pano" shots with exposure lock on and you
should be all set.

That was my original hope of information to find. I knew that the JPEG file had information in it telling Camedia that it was a pano image. But just didn't know where. I looked in one of the sample files that comes with Camedia 2.0, and looked at line 430h and did a search for the 00 00 03 sequence. Didn't find anything.
