Let Sleeping Dogs Lie

Agree completely - my wife has 5 dogs with a variety of personalities. Two of them make enough noise for all 5 but when all 5 get going - YIKES!
This was taken using my D50 and 50mm @1.4

I wish I could catch my pet sleeping. I have a chinchilla named Roo, the AF Lamp on my D40x annoys her. Without it, the image is darker than I like. Not to mention that getting a clean shot means opening the cage door which instantly triggers a hyper state of awakeness for her. If I get a good one of these days I will post it for you. She is so cute when she falls asleep in her big wheel.

I didn't think such a combo could exist. I thought Border Collies were more than a handful but you must have that beat.

PS: the two noisy ones I referred to ???..........yep they are corgi's
PS: glad to see you hang onto the 28-200G.

Hi Gary,

Yep Zeb is a Jack Russell / Corgi cross!! Picked him up at the local dog home about 5 or 6 years ago. He settled in and became one of the Family in less then a week!! Great character, great fun and does as he's told most of the time!! We even have friends / relatives queing up to look after him when we go on vacation!

Re the 28-200g. Yep thats not going anywhere. You may remember you pointed me in the right direction re the 28-200? There's no way I'm getting rid of it. I think its a great piece of glass for what it cost.

Whats your latest lens purchase? I am currrently thinking the 35 f2 #1 or 70-300vr #2.

All the best

Mark

These are all cute dogs. I wish I could have one...but I travel and do not have a fenced yard.

I will second the 28-200 lens approval.

Next lens purchase? Well, I am biding my time for the 70-200VR. Not as a replacement for the G but for portraits and use with a 1.7 TC. The 35mm is on the list and could satisfy me if I get to yancy for something. The 85 1.4mm is right there too but sliding a bit as I prioritze the money. Got a bit of a bonus this last year and went window shopping at a local photo haunt. When I realized I would get shot if I came home with the $1,100 85mm, I paused, reconsidered and lo and behold there was the SB800 staring me in the face. My eyes lit up when I realized it was the best bang for the buck at that moment and I bought it. And it is great - I was afraid of flash and still learning but this is cool stuff.
thanks for asking,

Thats a great shot, love the lighting... And they say its a "Dogs Life", well I'd like to be a dog and live in this house.....LOL...

This one of our Golden Retrievers.....Life's sooooo hard......

D80, 50 f/1.8 @ 1/125sec, f/1.8, ISO560

BTW, My 28-200G is going nowhere, it just too good a lens. I would almost (and I said almost) go to say that I prefer this to the over priced 18-200vr... ;o))
