With the impending release of Spiderman, my son and I love to do posters for him before we go to the movies. Kind of sparks the imagination and it's usually a good bonding experience.

This shot was taken with a brolly camera right shooting into a silver reflector back into his face.

Enjoy and thanks for looking.

What a great idea for kids. That would be great printed as a poster for his room. That way they can vision being anything they want to be, plus you get to do it together. I love it! Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful work!

I hope my youngest son will pose like this for me in a few years :)

You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.

Great lightning, great background, great face expression, very spiderman-like pose. And the rain is awesome as well. How did you do rain? Photoshop?

Great work !
How did you make the rain layer ?

Fun to do stuff together with the young ones that both enjoy.
Could he be around 8 years old ?

The rain is a really nice free photoshop action that I found digging around.

My daughter now wants me to do a poster of her as Mary Jane so we're in the process of figuring that out.

I've got one of this also in B&W that I think looks good so I might post that one also. I'm in the process of tweaking before we actually do the large poster.

Thanks for looking.

Great Picture.

It would be interesting to see some water droplets on his face/hair.....Might add to the feel of the picture...

I actually sprayed his face and hair with water but it didn't really do that well, and dried up pretty quickly. I think if I had it to do over I would just dump a glass of water over his head right before the shot.

Of course it's very tricky because I was outside in the wind so I had my wife holding the reflector and my daughter holding the light stand so it wouldn't blow over, and neither one wanted to be there!

I would recommend the experience though to anybody. My kids were able to take that to school and show their friends and they had a lot of fun with it.

Very cool. I like the B/G blue and the way that he's got that 'lonely crimefighter' look on his face :)

ahhh yes, the city is protected.

Cheers,

Allen

Sorry, I got in a hurry typing.

The setup was a brolly hooked on my alien bee 800 powered by a vagabond, and it was directly camera left. I shot directly into a silver reflector(held by my wife) angled up to my son. Shot it at F8 and 125th.

The sky I took separately and did some colorization and contrast adjustments, blending several layers together to get the right look.

The building behind him is another picture on another layer, darkened.

My son was sitting on a local business brick sign (kind of like a mailbox) that was about 6 feet tall. I shot from below him slightly and at an angle.

He's a 6 year old kindergarten kid but he's pretty decent at posing, especially for stuff like this. I had 2 or 3 others that I was close to using, plus one with his mask on, but in the end this one had the best feel to it.

When I get home I'm going to try to post the B&W version of this and get votes on which version to do for the poster.
