E330 for $299

hi guys,

last week i recieved my e330 from amazon, bought from amazon, and am very happy camper so far with this great imaging tool.

all these problems with ordering from this company and others, i believe is really gonna start hurting amazons reputation in the very near future, they need much better safe guards against companies like this, and should have penelties if not extra money back to the customers for cases like this.

when i saw these prices, my first thought was this company trying to meet montly sales goals or something like that.

whenever possible i try to buy from amazon only to avoid these types of problems since, knock on wood i haven't had any problems from amazon sold good.

Well, I guess I shouldn't be hoping for much since this seems like a pricing error. Kudos to Adorama for fulfilling at least some orders.

However, my main complaint is that I gave Adorama 48 hours to tell me that it was an error before I went on to order the lenses and accessories. I received no such email so off I went to buy some cool gear for my first dSLR (bags, lenses, etc.).

Also, given the way they treated AlbertSiegel's case as a "customer return", I feel it was just plain unfair, if not ridiculous. Since they have a couple of 'camera + lens' kits that they are still selling on their website right now, they should at least offer him those at a discount.

Adorama, just admit your mistake and we can all get on with life!

Adorama told me it was not an error when I called yesterday. They simply ran out of stock and were sending cancellation notices to the orders they could not fill.

I told the sales rep that Amazon listed they still had them in stock when I placed my order, but he simply said that maybe 20 others placed their order before me and those were filled first. I was simply out of luck. I find it difficult to understand why Amazon had a quantity listed when there were none.

I will call Adorama again on Thursday to figure out what really happened. Someone made a mistake here and I am very unhappy with it. I would like to figure out who it was so I could never give them my business again.

So far it seems that I was the only one who had his order refunded...

i'm not too hopeful of getting mine either.

My only communication was from Amazon, saying cc had been charged, and order should ship prior to March 31st...

I sent an email to Adorama on Friday 30th requesting a ship date. Yesterday I got what looks like a 'proforma' email response to my request saying that they are closed for Passover, and will contact me after April 15th (i think that was the date). Not having a USA address, I ended up on the spur of the moment using a friends address in Chicago. I do need to tell him to watch out for a an E-330 ;-) .... Charlie...

I've purchased two lenses from Adorama recently, so i'm hoping the longer this drags out, the more likely it is they feel compelled to honour the transaction. Another friend travels to Chicago soon, and is there a month - so here's hoping.

If they charged my credit card, then I would watch the Adorama site VERY closely. They currently list the E-330 2-lens and 1-lens kits for sale for $549 and $599 respectively. If they got in body-only kits in stock in the immediate future, I'd be calling them and telling them I want my camera for $299. Period.

Actually, reverse that "respectively" in the message above -- the 2-lens kit is of course more expensive than the single lens kit.

One more day before my $299 E330 comes in :)

I just got my $719 Cameta E330, FL36, 14-45. woohoo its fun specially taking pictures my my 11 month baby hehe.

The $299 E330 might go to ebay to fund more glass.

Again, thank you for the link!!!!!!

Cool, keep us informed on your status. I sent an email to them and apparently, they will be out till next Wednesday. They have my $300 and I cannot do anything about it until then. ;)

I will try calling Thursday, where the sales department is coming in. I'll keep you posted then. Good luck!

Same situation at my side. Backordered from the manufacturer, usually ships in 10-14 days. Hope that everything will turn out well. Good luck to everybody waiting for their camera!

That really bothers me... why did they cancel just mine? Was it becasue I called? I never asked them to cancel.

So you guys who got the e-mail telling you that they were out of stock never were cancelled? They plan to fill your order? Looks like I will need to call and chat with a manager or someone. Pelase wish me luck.

I think you were the only one who called. I didn't call them because most people take a long time getting used to my accent, so in this case I didn't bother. ;)

I'm beginning to think I should have gone for the $599 kit since this is my first dSLR. Might call them to change my order, we'll see how it goes.

Anyway, good luck to you pal!

Just so you know, got mine today (actually yesterday, but I wasn't at work to pick it up).

First impressions, coming from 1 year with the E-500:

Body feels a little strange coming from the 500, but I must say the grip is nice and comfy. I like the rubberizing and it's deeper. Balances in the hand nicely too. Live view is nifty, although trying to hand-hold and use 10x live view with manual lenses will take some practice. I like the shutter sound on this one a little bit more than my E-500, but I know that probably varies from unit to unit.

If you ordered through Amazon.com marketplace, your card is most probably already charged. Mine was charged since last Friday and debited from my account, so I think the part where they said they won't charge our card doesn't apply for us.

Anyway, cheers to a long wait, everyone!
