Does anybody have any idea where you can still get a a new D30 at a good price? Back when the rebate was avaliable the best price was around $1,750. ($2,200 = minus $400 Microdrive minus $50 Battery).

Fortunately that is when I bought mine. My brother is looking for one now that the D60 is no big deal. A $1,750 D30 is better than the $2,700 - $3,000 D60!

He only wants new.

Delta International had some (grey market) for $2000. Don't know about current stock.

I don't know of any lower prices.

B&H still has them, I think, but above $2,000.

The price on a NEW one is probably going to be high until they're gone. There just aren't that many left.

but all the people who said the price would come down didn't know of what they spoke. The Nikon D1 did the same thing only they were on the market longer after the replacement came out however the price didn't drop much below the $2,800 that the were asking just before they became "obsolete". After the "blow out" price is set and the new model introduction the existing stock is so slim and the price diferential so great that there is enough demand for the old model to hold up the price.
(Terrible sentence structure.)
