You might have trouble if you try to update firmware by Nikon View 5.
I can't update my 880's firmware after installed Nikon View 4.
Only possible to update if installed Nikon View 3
(whatever comes with the camera)

On the CP5k, you can update the firmware by using the CF card. I thought this was standard across all the CPs.
I would be interested in V5 if it was carbonized for OS X...

My understanding is that it will allow disk browsing (like V3 did) and also better support for EXIF data.

This is the reply I got from Nikon Tech Support after asking them the same question -Does anyone know if Nikon will be offering an upgrade from
NikonView V4 to the new V5 ?
"Please call 1-80--645-6689, option 1, to find out the
availability of version 5. I am told that it will be available for
download later. It will work with both cameras but uninstall version 4
first."
