I caught the cat under our bed with this baby squirrel. I managed to rescue it and before I took it back out into the garden, grabbed my LX1 for a few one-handed shots (aperture mode, AF macro). I'm not sure the squirrel will survive. It's very young and didn't seem to want to do anything other than hang onto me :-(

What a cutie! I hope it does OK out in the world.

Awwww....are there no animal rescue places near you who can rear it and put it back into the world? That's the one thing I don't like about cats. Fortunately mine is not a good hunter!

These animals are pretty resilient I'm sure it will be O.K., It was probably still in shock after being captured by your cat..kudos on the rescue..Bill ~

Thanks Bill - yes, I'm sure he was in shock. He was shivering and actually clung onto my hand when I tried putting him on top of our shed roof. I eventually put him on a tree behind the back fence and it was at least an hour before he moved an inch, but I hope he managed to find a safer spot.
