Lately we've been having some warm weather here in Northern Indiana, but mother nature decided to bring in some cold and snowy weather. Unfortunately a lot of early spring flowers and tree's did not like this weather. Here are some picks. Don't know if I agree with the experts on this global warming!

Poor bumble bee and hyacinths!

Actually those of us in the Midwest are to expect colder weather with global warming. Doesn't seem fair.

global warming is about average worldwide temperature over many years, not a few cold days in one small part of the world.
(the same is also true for some hot days here and there of course...)

I think it's been warming up since the last ice age!

Dan ;)

PS - I think a planet nearby here is also showing signs that it's caps are melting...must be man doing something on that planet also! Or could it be the sun? ;)

It is not so much the question if it is happening, or if it is man made (there is enough information out there, build your own opinion), or how we can stop it (we can't), but rather the question how we deal with the consequences - i.e. securing food and water resources for a still growing human population, and what to do about the problem of migration.

Nothing has been done in regards to the real problems so far. The industry is cashing in on environmentally friendly products (which many of them are only on paper), and that's it.

Yes, the human race has survived an ice age before, but there was more space on the planet.

( Both just started, so don't expect too much)

warming is happening largely due to us, but it snows in Indiana in early April and you're ready to disbelieve it?!

Go to Glacier NP and try to shoot the glaciers that were there 70 years ago but are gone now. Heck, just wait till summer in Indiana and see how you feel.

Someone suggested it's solar activity. Could be that's partly to blame but even if it is shouldn't we be doing what we can to cool the place off? All the greenhouse gasses we're putting into the air don't shut shorter wavelength radiation from the sun out (lucky for us photographers), but make it tougher for the longer wavelength radiation the earth tries to radiate back out to get out. So it gets warmer.

We've got more CO2 in the air than any time in the last 20 million years and it's increasing fast, as well as methane and chemicals that were never there before that have a big effect.

Look it up, say in Wikipedia.

You have it. Whether it is man made or not I doubt seriously it will be stopped. Any real decreases in the developed countries ( something I'm not sure you will ever see, even in the ones that are somewhat serious about it) will be off set and then some by increases elsewhere. What needs to be focused on is dealing with the results.
