where to buy?

I'm looking at getting the 17-35/2.8 nikon lens but bhphotovideo does not have this lens in stock. It's 500 bucks more from best buy. Anyone know of any other reputable online stores?

They have them new, and appear to have at least 8 used ones.

1. It appears to be in stock at adorama for the same price as B&H. After, B&H (my preference) this is the source, I would buy my "expensive" lenses from.

3. It's an excellent lens, and don't let the "know it all critics" in these forums sway you to 17-55mm, if you want the 17-35mm lens, As they are two completely different lenses that are best at somewhat different shooting requirements -------- the reason I actually have both lenses.... Their differences, are more than, well- covered in the Nikon Forums, here at dpreview, so a search will bring them up for your review if necessary...

4. Once you get this lens (Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8), it will no doubt be a "keeper" for you. And, why do you suppose B&H has sold out -------- it's because this lens is always in demand for those that are knowledgeable of it and have the funds to purchase one...

Beach camera is a good source for nikon equiptment. I have had no problems with three recent purchases. arvine

Thanks for the info. They are actually only a 45 minutes away. I think I'll just go pick one up on monday!

In person I know that they'll price match B&H as I've done it many times. You might want to verify (in advance) that it is at the store you intend to drive to (i.e., Grand Rapids store frequently has to get stock from Kalamazoo store).
