Bill,Lil, are the headaches similar to migrians or migrains???
If so i have a suggestion that worked for me. No medicins involved.
I would probably shoot it at a wider aperture to increase the shutter speed as much as possible. I believe you shot it at 1/250 @ f11 if I remember and is a very good shot and even more so at 1/250 with a hummer. I would of probably chose 1/2000 @ f8 or wider based on your exposure settings. With the 70-200VR and TC17eII f5.6 is crystal. What settings would you have used?Very good shot especially at 1/250!

Thanks,

1/2000 @ f8......... Normally I use 1/250 @ f8, but I wanted to increase DOF so I pushed up to f/11I would probably shoot it at a wider aperture to increase the

--I may have had a burn out day about histograms - yet again....
So Roman recommended I'd take time off from them & do something
FUN. With my bad headache all day, that was asking a lot but I
figured I couldn't get any more depressed.
So I took Roman's advice.
Result
D200 with 70-200VR + TC17E-II at 340mm
matrix metering
ISO 100
1/250 s
f/11
C&C WELCOME!!!!!!

Thanks Matt,Don't get headaches over this stuff, it's easy to get too
technical, and squeeze the creativity right out of it ...
Thank you. You are Very Sweet. I've been very surprised to figure out that around the house I have one species of hummingbirds, but just a few feet away..... About 100 feet away from our house I have three maybe four different species.
--Nice bird, shame about the frame. I wish people would stopp adding
unnecesary distractions to otherwise superb shots.

Black holes do not destroy information.
Thank You.No, your image is tack sharp. Look at the eyes and beak. It
doesn't get much better than that. You captured the texture of the
beak and I think that is difficult to do.
Actually, I'm stationary on these shots. No running around. For once. ;-)The reason I asked is that, having the same two lenses, I probably
would have shot it with the 300/4 if I wanted something in the
300mm range, unless I thought I would be so close that I might need
to zoom out. I never get that close to them but you may. You used
the 70-200 and I thought you might have shot it handheld (which
would have been impressive) because you needed to be mobile, and in
that case the VR would be a benefit. I don't know your set up
there except that you were shooting in or around a barn.
