Be honest, we all know the foveon is a prototype, not even pre-production. Making such a fuzz about the samples in Lee's original post makes me feel Phil's reply is of quality wit! Nice one phil!
And kev, knowing english or not doesn't allow lee to understand the joke, really. Who is supposed to know all the CCD manufacturers in the world? Bet you Jonny Public thinks even sanyo makes their own ccd for their own cameras!

I read the comments that concern you and IMHO, Phil was just being a bit facetious.
I wish my biggest worry in life was what a webmaster in the UK thought of me.....I'd be in pretty good shape then!

Also, you have cost me lost time in reading your pathatic sniveling posts, and I require compensation as time equals money, and I will never be able to get that time wasted reading your posts back. Those are MINUTES of my life gone forever. DO you understand MR. LEE?? My life is SHORTER because of YOU!
So therefore my lawyer will be contacting you and presenting a bill for one million US dollars for your wasting of my time not to mention my phsycological damage as a result of reading your posts, I now HATE ALL people with the last name of LEE, since I am lumping them all together as you lumped me into your group. It will take me years of therapy to like people named Lee again. Also my medical bills from laughing so hard at you because of how silly you made yoruself look. I have cracked my ribs and my stomach hurts, and I probably have internal bleeding as well. Well, is that strictly true? Maybe when Phil was doing this as a hobby back in '98 that it was, but today dpreview is a busienss concern, and as such needs income. This comes from (a) advertisers, (b) PayPal donations, (c) merchandise sales, and (d) other sources I don't know about. If advertisers weren't convinced they would get at least some business from people who click through from dpreview, I doubt if they would pay to advertise, so in that respect some of the readers of this site are indirectly paying Phil's salary. If advertisers didn't play such an important role in the site, I doubt if Phil would go to the trouble of banning certain types of images and language in the forums to keep them happy.
Items (b) and (c) are clearly very directly a case of people "pay[ing] him to be here" so no further comment required there, and for (d) no further comment is possible.
The reason I point this out is because several people have implied that this site is something Phil does for a bit of fun, even praising him for working on a Sunday to bring us reports! I think I-R etc, would love it if Phil took the day off so they could scoop him with PMA announcements, but luckily Phil is a good enough businessman to realize this would be commercial suicide.
Which leads me to my point (and I do have one). I think one of the reasons threads like this get going (apart from the obvious one of a slight case of, ahem, oversensitivity) is that Phil is effectively CEO of this business. A CEO is expected to conduct himself in a way which is beyond reproach at all times (Enron's Mr Skilling notwithstanding). OTOH, Phil is also a crazy-ass digtial photography enthusiast with opinions and ego and all those good things. Occasionally this sets up a conflict. Certainly the "maybe you'd like to tell me how I can be in two places at once" comment came from Phil the camera guy and not Phil the CEO, and as such did surprise me slightly (though not shock or offend or anything else).
Buy hey, if it works for Phil, and it keeps this site the best photo site (by a quite margin) on the web, then I'm certainly not complaining. But please let's pay the Phil the compliment of acknowledging that he's actually running a successful business here, and not just doing this for the good of mankind.

All seriousness aside, I would like to suggest that you make your lawsuit a class action suit so that we all can gain from our unfortunate waste of time and mental abuse by the words of Mr. Lee. I'm also going to contact Rodney Dangerfield and let him know that Mr. Lee is stealing his "I can't get no respect material." I'm certain that Mr. Dangerfield's intellectual property has been infringed upon. Another lawsuit I'm afraid is in the offing. Good luck Mr. Lee the legal sharks have caught the scent of blood.
