how the pervs make it difficult for us

If this thread is tongue in cheek, then I was too slow to realize
and I apologize. However, if it is not I suggest you take a few
more pictures preferably landscapes to get your minds out of the
gutter.

But forty years ago six years olds did not participate in beauty
contests that were designed to make them look like sexy adults, nor
did childrens fashions aim at making them look sexy.
Child beauty pageants began in the 1960s, and they have always given kids an unnatural "adult" look.

Also, in terms of children's fashions, "sexy" is in the eye of the beholder. Sometimes our "protectors" strike me as being as sick as the "pervs"

According to Spanish authorities, one of these pictures boosts paedophiliac sex tourism.

According to a BBC report a while ago, paedophilia incidents have decreased per capita from fifty years ago. However media coverage and public hysteria has INCREASED.

The problem is the way society chooses to deal with problems. Liberty has become a word used to describe certain places, and not a condition in life. For example, Newark Airport has been renamed "Liberty International Airport" since 911, but there is no liberty there at all. Yoiu can't smoke there. You will be questioned if you take certain photographs there. You have to remove your shoes, and walk on a public fungus farm before you can enter it's inner sanctum.

There is no "liberty" there, except for the name. Likewise, even thouh the Tappan Zee bridge is falling apart, and has been photo documented from every angle for decades, it is illegal for me to take any photos of it's structure today. Of course, I still take photos of everything that is forbidden, but again, "liberty" is a straw man in modern America.

How many famous classic Kodak photographs would be considered perv shots today? That, for no other reason than that the images are of children that have no blood relation to the photographer.

I'm glad to be over 50 years old today, as I have old fashioned views on civility, crime, and punishment. The modern world is on a fast track to the sewer of history, and has no stones to draw a line in the sand.

Too bad, as most people who feel the need to photograph an historic landmark, or a happy child have no intention of blowing something up, or causing harm to an individual. Joe Stalin would be proud with our progress....

in each of them.
You should watch re-runs of Spanky and Our Gang...
I have watched most of the our gang series. Which one do you think
is acting like a child? I mentioned the Shirley because she is the
most obvious historical example of the phenomenon that has you in a
twitter.
LOL! Shirley as a sex object? In exactly which movie was she
depicted as such?
My point is that her look and behavior is similar to the made-up children of today that have some of these people up in arms.

As to the movies I believe you're wrong that she acted as a typical child. Rewatch them then ask your self how many 5 year olds broker the adult relationships? How many games did you see Shirley play on screen? How many times did you see her play with other children? How many times did you see her dancing with adults while dressed the same as an adult?
He implies that I might be a pervert.
I meant to say, I was worried that your PC association is leading you astray by associating X-rated thoughts with lipstick etc.
This is the second time he's tried to stifle the discussion with
this kind of remark. I think he's getting desperate... :)
Didn't mean to stifle discussion. In fact there were a number of posts that looked at the issue of attaching such ridiculous ideas to child images in magazines etc.
But what the heck, his advice is to stick his head in the sand, and
"go out and take landscapes."

Dave
I meant to advise you to take landscape images if you think X-rated thoughts looking at magazine and advertising pictures of children.

I didn't understand why you thought the pageant industry was getting desperate by your web reference? In much of Texas the pageants are put on by pageant companies that advertise, offer sales and specials.
