A typical capitalist gesture of contempt for the wild & free,
slaughter for profit. Shame on you.

Capitalist, contempt, slaughter, profit in one sentence: are you
some animal lawyer? If so, one who jumps to conclusions. Shoot is
not always kill, this is a photoforum, in this spirit the 'shot'
was meant.
Lefties have no sense of humour, as you have shown clearly.
LOL! I'm pretty sure that he was kidding.

Doesn't say much about the con's sense of humor, does it? :)

I think the beaver are safe from the wicked Dutch capitalist. It is difficult to shoot straight when stoned & riding a bicycle.

So what if he has a museum piece, Even an SB-28 on full power
manual can heat up some air. 2,000 years ago an SB-28 would've
scared the bejesus out of everyone.

In the spirit of Occam’s Razor one should embrace the less
complicated formulation or simply put, less is more.
Wrong, the Nikon SB-10 is the latest and MOST powerful speedlight
ever made, for those of you who have never seen one of these
beauties, here is a photo, enjoy

It are the capitalists who pay for left wing idle loonies such as you. You will love it in the Netherlands, our government is some kind of maoist terror regime. People are packing their bags amass and flee to safety, but you will certainly feel at home.

I am not a harsh person. If they wish to flee that is OK, but their bags are the property of the proletariat so they cannot expect to take their ill gotten gains with them.

You should only jerk the chain of intelligent dogs. If you jerk the ones that just don't get it, you just look foolish yourself.

He is sort of an expert with Coolpixes and I think Nikon DSLRs...honestly I haven't seen much of his shots--I used to come to the forum to troubleshoot my cameras and look for advices (to get through the shutter lag and inability to AF in low light with coolpixes) and his advices were more useful.

Jay Turberville deserves at least one vote.

Also honorable mentions to Joe Wisniewski and Thom Hogan.

I disagree with all three of them quite often, but they are all sincere disagreements and I often learn something from the debate.

Note that all three of these people have worth-while web-sites that add to their credibility and value as internet sources. (Unlike me for example! My web-site is purely for family and friends.)

With larger pixels and sensors you must choose between bigger glass, longer exposure times, lower resolution, or higher ISO speeds that neutralize the noise advantages.

I think I understand what you're saying. I was out of the country for a few months and missed this discussion.

Lionheart, ha...he's slightly right wing of Stalin. He's got his tousers in the right place but needs to step into this century. A little too provincial for me. Lol.

Lionheart was a pompus windbag who probably never owned a camera.

In addition to posting some wonderful photos, Morris always takes the time to reply to photos submitted on the samples and galleries forum. He has good advice, kind words of encouragement, and takes the time to comment on most photos posted.

All the folks on the retouch forum are great. Very giving of time and talent.

Glad to: it is part of my campaign against the idea that larger pixels and larger formats can be used with equal ISO and equal f-stop with no penalty in lens size.
  • To avoid lower resolution (less pixels on the subject), the larger format (specifically, the larger pixels) need longer focal lengths.
  • To avoid higher ISO or longer exposure times requires equal f-stops.
  • If the shorter focal length lens of the smaller format (smaller pixels) is shooting wide open, the larger pixels/sensor thus require a lens of equally low minimum f-stop combined with that longer focal length: this is "bigger glass", in particular through increased maximum effective aperture diameter and thus increased front element size.
  • If instead the shorter focal length lens of the smaller format is stopped down for adequate DOF, the longer focal length used with the larger format needs a higher f-stop to get equal DOF, and so one is back to needing higher ISO or longer exposure times.

Stalin was a left rather than right wing totalitarian but I think I know what you mean having had a quick read of some of this guys posts. Dont get the provincial bit though....mental or geographical?
