This is my first time taking pictures of a real model. C&C is welcome.

Nice model.

There's a small hump around her chin that you might want to smooth out, and that stray hair on her left side under her chin is also distracting. Against that background, it doesn't look the right colour.

Improving, one shot at a time...

The lighting is a little harsh as evidenced by the bright spot on the tip of the nose and chin and the shadow cast by the nose. The gap in the sleeve is distracting. This pose has so much potential as the model has artistic features, strikingly beautiful eyes. Softer lighting and a slightly different pose and this can be a winner.

Yes, that shadow has haunted me. i diden't notice it untill I opened up the pictures in Photoshop, and then it was to late. i tryed my best at removing the shadow in PS but all my efforts never did look any good. So I left it as is even thoug I'm not stisfied with it. :(

But I shure learnd my lesson.

The reason for the empty space above her head is that the picture was meant as a magazine cover, and the logotype of the magazine is at the top. But you're right, in other surcomstances I would have tryed to fill the picture with the model instead of background.

Do you mean the hump on the right chin (left chin if you are the model)?

The hair thing is a debatable matter. :) We were going for a relaxed look, and thought it would be abit relaxed if her hair wasen't all perfect. Should we have attacted the matter in a different way? Input always appreciated. :)

Reason for all the empty space is that that we were supose to put a magazine logotype above here head. Glad you liked it Morris. :)

Light is tricky! I diden't notice the shadow on her nose untill after the photosession. First now I understand how tricky it can be to get the light just right. Thank you for your input, greatly appreciated. Diden't see the light as to harsh before, but now I see what you mean.

Yes, you should. It's realy fun to take pictures of other fellow humans. They are more willing to do what you want then nature. ;)

This is one of my very first posts and sorry if I sounds a bit blunt but I personally think that the model is pretty and the angles and composition interesting, but the make up might just be a little too much/too obvious especially if it was intended to look "relaxed".

A softer lighting would probably have helped, but i ain't good enough photographer to give advice on how to improve that shot.

It surely is a matter of taste, and I guess that downunder, we tend to be more subtle with make up.

Hehe....all that make up. I'm sorry to say is not real, it's all photoshoped. I shot it with the 50mm 1.8 and it is just to sharp to give natural looking skin when close to the subject. You see every poor on her skin, and every tliitel wrinkel. I was experementing a littl and thought I would give here that ultra soft Dior smooth skin, but it turned out to be just to much on this model so I toned it down a little.

All oppinions is greatly appreciated! So even though it's one of your first posts, I like getting comments on what people actually think of the picture.

My findings exactly I would like the white space removed at top a bit more of the models lower part of her body shown (below her waist) and unforunately the angle of her head and lighting seems to portray an unflattering Bruce Forsyth chin which could be softenen by PP.
