Just return home from Miami, I shot about a hundred pics and I have put some up on pbase. I dont know how to use Photoshop, but would like to compare the before or after pics. If there is a kind person who could "clean up" an image for me, I would love to see the difrence from the origanal. The pic I would like to see is img_0587. please let me know if any one is willing to do this for me.
Thanks

Seth,

I tried to send you an email through your pbase site, but I am not sure if it went through or not. I wanted to try to help you, but was unable to send the file back to you. Contact me if you still need any help.

Seth:

The only modifications I made were to crop the image to the horizon angle and slightly tweaked the levels. I'm sure that Serra or Willie will see your post tomorrow morning and gladly improve it more for you.

Lol, why me? There are ppl here who do much better work. If you need a product shot re-colored, then maybe I'm your man, but with just general "make this look good" work, I get lost quickly because I never know what "looks good". I'm too Libran...

Ok... well, this was the one Seth mentioned by name. I think cropping is best left to the artists, but I did it anyway. I posted the full-size version (1.4Mb) at my pbase gallery:

Is it an improvement? I wanted to lighten the dark top of the photo, but that was getting to be too much. I just warmed it up a bit in color balance (Photoshop) and sharpened it. The first step I took was Auto Contrast, faded to 40%, my favorite newest friend :o)

I think Yehuda just defined the white&black points on the pic. you can use Level or Curve to do that by pressing either CTRL+L or CTRL+M. he selected the chair as the white point, though I think it's little over exposed.

anyway, just try that on your own and play around with it till you're satisfied with the result. good luck!
Seth,

Is this what you asked about?

Yehuda

Wow this is great guys, I am starting to see the diffrences.
Yehuda, can you tell me how you color corrected that photo.

thanks

Seth, of course.

Open Image> Adjust> Curves and select the white (rightmost) eye dropper. Click with it on the lightest ice cream spot (next to the top of the plastic cup, just left to the straw) and... and that's all. took me 5 seconds.

Your photo 603 (sunset) is awesome -- so dramatic. Great pictures!

They were all sunrises, this is what I woke up to every morning. And thanks to the crummy weather we always had clouds and a heck of alot of wind. I took about 25 shot of the sun rise. I just kept playing with the settings to see what would happen.

I guess even a blind squarrel finds a nut once in a while!
